The team of a2o architecten, a2o field, awg Architecten, B2Ai, Atelier Romain & Bureau Cnockaert is proud to announce that together with Ciril and Brocap we have won the competition organized by WVI and the City of Damme for the regeneration of the former military domain in Sijsele into the mixed-use neighborhood ‘Kwartier 51’.

Our proposal builds on the area’s unique landscape, carefully blending the historical and functional qualities of the former site with thoughtful new interventions. Within a few years, the 20.5-hectare site will be transformed into a vibrant neighborhood, featuring 225 new homes, a youth center, and a hub for regional entrepreneurship – all embedded in a revitalized, climate-resilient environment.
