Final Event for the Living Lab Leemsteen Research Project!
Over the past three years, a2o has been part of a multidisciplinary team involved in the research, design, execution, and analysis of several case studies within the VLAIO Living Lab “From Earth to Value – Practical Application of Clay Blocks.” This research project will conclude with an inspiring final event on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the UHasselt Campus 'Oude Gevangenis'!
During this event, we will share key insights and lessons learned throughout the process. We will demonstrate how clay blocks can serve not only as an ecological and circular building material, but also as a technically and aesthetically versatile solution within Flemish construction practice.

The Living Lab Leemsteen (Earth Blocks) is a VLAIO project carried out by UHasselt (Faculty of Architecture and Arts and the Construction Engineering Research Group UHasselt), Buildwise, a2o, DEMOCO, brickZ and BC materials.
